Israeli-born graphic designer Noma Bar gives us an exclusive first look at his latest creation for the London Design Festival, ‚the dog‘, an image-making machine that produces die cuts from various materials – from paper to wood. After serving in the Israeli navy and attending Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Bar moved to London to work as a designer. Here, he tells us how design saved him from the darkest moments in his life and what he means by ’negative space‘. Cut It Out Image-Making Machine runs from 17-30 September 2011 at Outline Editions: 94 Berwick Street, London, W1F 0QF. www.outline-editions.co.uk
